"प्यार के वादे क्यूँ करते थे, क्यूँ करते थे हमसे बातें!
क्यूँ मिलने आते थे हमसे, क्यूँ जगते थे सारी रातें!
कहते थे की सारी खुशियाँ कर दूंगा मैं तेरे अर्पण,
लेकिन फिर भी दे गए मुझको, अश्कों से भीगी बरसातें!


जिस दिल को अपना कहते थे, उस दिल को ही तोड़ गए हो !
तन्हा तन्हा अश्क बहाऊ, इस हालत में छोड़ गए हो!

काश तुम्हारे मन की नियत, पहले से मुझको दिख जाती!
ना तुमको मैं दिल देती और ना ही तुमसे प्यार निभाती!...............


तेरे प्यार की खातिर मैंने अपनों का दामन ठुकराया!
तोड़ के सारी जंजीरें वो, तुझको अपना हाथ थमाया!
तेरे दर्द को देख के मैंने नम कर ली थी अपनी आंखें,
तेरे प्यार की ख्वाहिश में, अपना हर अरमान मिटाया!

लाके बीच समुन्दर में तुम, अब अपना मुंह मोड़ गए हो!
तन्हा तन्हा अश्क बहाऊ, इस हालत में छोड़ गए हो!
